چکیده

where M is the earth mass, m is the perturber mass, R is the center-to-center distance between Earth and the perturber, a0 is the earth radius, ψ is the angle between the mass centers and the observer, ωL is the (siderial) rate of revolution of the two bodies, and θ is the co-latitude of the observer referenced to Earth’s center of mass. The last, rotational term, simply adds to the rotational potential of the earth, adding one part in ∼ 750 to the flattening of the earth (about 30 meters) in the case of the moon, but does not appear as a tidal perturbation. The second term is the term of importance, describing the tidal potential resulting in a prolate ellipsoidal deformation aligned along the center of mass line. This important term is designated

Risk assessment of mercury contamination in surface sediment of tidal zone in coastal line of Hormozgan province

Mercury (T-Hg), as the most toxic Trace metal, can have adverse effects on the environment. In this study, the concentrations of T-Hg were investigated in surface sediments of higher and lower tidal zones of Hormozgan province coasts including the stations of Shahr Jask, Ariyan International Wetland Lagoon, Khorgorsuzan Bandar Abbas, Bostono Industrial Zone, Coastal Park of Khumir, Shahrbonderl...

Modeling of tidal currents effect on PersianGulf density using MIKE model

General circulation of Persian Gulf has a cyclonic pattern that affected by tide, wind stress and thermohaline force. Although tidal force is very effective in values of current speed, but thermohaline force is dominant in long time because tidal forcing has a short period and returning nature. Tide and density parameters are important in navigating and shipping, especially when ships approachi...

An enigma in estimates of the Earth’s dynamic ellipticity

The precession and obliquity frequencies of the Earth’s rotational motion are functions of the dynamic ellipticity of the Earth’s gravitational figure, and this connection has provided a novel bridge between studies of palaeoclimate and geodynamics. In particular, analyses of tuned climate proxy records have yielded bounds on the mean relative perturbation in dynamic ellipticity over both the l...

Free core nutation resonance parameters from VLBI and superconducting gravimeter data

Context. The free core nutation (FCN) can be observed by its associated resonance effects on the forced nutations of the Earth’s figure axis, as observed by very long baseline interferometry (VLBI), or on the diurnal tidal waves, retrieved from the time-varying surface gravity recorded by superconducting gravimeters (SG). Aims. In this paper, we study the sensitivity of both techniques to the F...

An Investigation of Thermal Tidal Oscillations in the Earth’s Atmosphere Using a General Circulation Model

An investigation of tidal oscillations in the earth’s atmosphere has been made using an 18 vertical level, hemispheric general circulation model. This approach permitted these tides to be investigated without resorting to linearization of the governing differential equations, as is required by the conventional approach. In addition, it allows the tides to be studied in relation to a realistic a...
